September is National Preparedness Month sponsored by FEMA via its www.ready.gov campaign in partnership with the Citizen Corps.
Being Ready (or preparedness) goes beyond fire alarms, smoke detectors, dead-bolt locks and extra food in the pantry. It can be as simple as talking through contingency plans with your children should they be unable to get into your house after school or as complex as a family calling tree to notify family members in case of emergency.
Attached are two documents
for you to download (FEMAs Family Emergency Plan template and Emergency Supply List) to assist you in your preparedness efforts.
