Respect Life Committee

The Respect Life Committee promotes, through prayer, education and service, the Church’s doctrine on the most basic human right:  the protection of life from conception to natural death.  The committee invites parishioners to become active in the moral, legal, and political aspects of such life issues as abortion, euthanasia, assisted suicide, cloning and stem cell ethics.

Social Actions and Concerns Commission

The commission is concerned with the works of charity of our parish.  We distribute the charitable funds of the parish, providing support to VEAP, Loaves & Fishes, Meals on Wheels, Cornerstone and other groups.  We offer volunteer opportunities for parishioners to serve our community.

Social Justice Committee

The Social Justice Committee at Nativity of Mary provides leadership in our parish for the work of Social Justice, which encompasses “Changing hearts and changing structures on behalf of Social Justice.”  The committee makes known to the parish community the teachings of our Faith regarding Social Justice, monitors legislative actions that affect the poorest among us, and then encourages and invites all members of our community to become voices for Social Justice.  The Social Justice Committee assures that Nativity of Mary is represented at the Archdiocesan level of the Sowers of Justice and represents our Faith at other community coalitions such as the Joint Religious Legislative Coalition (JRLC), which yearly gathers for a “Day on the Hill” during our State’s Legislative Session.
