Get Ready for Some Fun! Mark Your Calendars for Friday April 23, 2010

 

 

Dear Nativity of Mary School Family:
Planning is underway for the Tenth Annual Spirit of Spring Social and Silent/Live Auction – and we’re excited to have you participate in the festivities!  This year’s event will take place on Friday, April 23rd, 2010.  The cost for the event is $20.00 per person and $40.00 per couple. Each ticket includes appetizers and a drink ticket for the evening.  Look for an invitation to come home in March. 

The Spirit of Spring Social is a wonderful way for our school community to gather, socialize and raise funds for our children’s school. If you are new to Nativity, the Spirit of Spring Social is one of our largest fundraisers and attended by over 300 guests every year.  The Spirit of Spring Social features a silent/live auction, sweepstakes, tasty hors d’oeuvres, a wine and beer bar and numerous other entertaining activities.  It is a fun night for parents, teachers, staff and friends of Nativity to get together for a great cause – our school.  It’s a great opportunity to make some new friends.   We hope you will attend!

 

NEW!  LIVE AUCTION BIDDING GROUPS: FORM AN OPTIONAL BIDDING GROUP!

What is a bidding group? Forming a bidding group is a great way to share a Live Auction item with fellow Nativity of Mary parents, friends, family, neighbors, or co-workers. Anyone interested in splitting the cost of an item can be in your bidding group. This is a great way to trim your costs and to participate in the Spring Fling Live Auction without blowing your budget! Start forming groups now so you’ll be ready for the Silent Auction!! Just follow these easy steps:

  1. Identify a fabulous Live Auction item
  2. Decide on the maximum bid your group will pay.
  3. Remember! Each member of your group splits the cost of the item!
  4. Nominate one person to do the bidding for your group.
  5. Gather family, friends, Nativity parents, neighbors or co-workers to be in your group.

WE ALSO NEED YOUR SUPPORT

 

Business donations are a key part of our auction event.  It’s easier than you think to ask for a business donation!  When you’re shopping at one of your favorite stores, don’t hesitate to ask the manager if they will support our Spirit of Spring Auction event.  Bring along the following forms:

 

Keep copies in your car, purse, office, etc. – so that you have them when the opportunity knocks at your door!  This is a great opportunity for businesses to spread the word on their products and services in front of a dedicated local audience.  We highly encourage our participants to support our business sponsors.  Businesses can donate in the form of items, services or events – as well as have the opportunity to advertise in our Auction booklet.  Donations can be brought/sent to the school – or call us and we’ll schedule to pick it up.  Checkout the Business Solicitation letter and Donation & Business Ad form for more information.

Donate an item, service or event. Checkout the Donation Idea List for starters.  Let your creativity go wild and have some fun!  Re-gift those presents you don’t need. Take advantage of that terrific sale you saw. Get a group of friends or family members together to donate a larger donation.  The ideas are endless!

Volunteer to help support the Spirit of Spring Auction Event.  It takes a lot of people to make this event successful. Sign up to help out. You’d be surprised how small the time commitment can be to volunteer – and how much fun it can be to participate!  Checkout the

For over 50 years, Nativity of Mary School has been a strong presence in the Bloomington Community.    During that time we have successfully met the challenge of maintaining a high level of education while strengthening family core values.  We’re sure you’ll agree that in the world we live in today, teaching our children these values is of utmost importance.  The proceeds from this benefit will help us continue our school mission of providing opportunities for spiritual, academic, physical and social growth.  These funds also support financial aid for students, enhance teacher salaries and aid in classroom resources.
