Skills-
we will review the sounds of w and y. Our new red word is they. They
are able to count sounds and kinder- spell words like frog. I am so proud of their hard work. We are also writing 5 point sentences. This means that each sentence starts
with a capital, punctuation, spaced correctly, goes left to right and uses
lower case letters. I give 1 point
for each area they have done. This
is something they will continue to do in first grade. In Math, we will continue working on subtraction. This can be a hard concept to grasp so
please work with them. Thanks!
Friday: Move-up Day had to be postponed last
week. Mrs.HartmanŐs Dad passed
away unexpectedly. We will be
moving up this Friday.
AnimalŐs
2by2- We are patiently waiting for our chicks to hatch. We are predicting
they will be here Wednesday or Thursday. It is so neat to watch this new
life. We do not get a lot of work
done that day. Next week we will move on to
Isopods. Ask your child the
difference between pill bugs and sow bugs? Who won the race? What do they eat? This has been a great science
unit. They really get a hands-on
view of the critters.
Field
Trip: We are going to the Zoo,
Zoo, Zoo! How about you, you, you? Our field trip is next Wednesday. We will leave here at 9:30 and return
to school by 2:00. If it is
raining we will come back early. I am sure it will be sunny and
beautiful! They must wear their
uniforms, so dress for the weather!
Please bring or send a bag lunch and something to sit on. If you are driving separately, you may
take your child home after the field trip. Please let me know if they will not
be riding the bus back to school. See attached permission slip. We really like them in uniform on field
trip days. It is easy to keep
track of them.
