The Robertson Report-April 26, 2010
This week, as April showers
turn to May flowers, we will be beautifying our classroom with signs of
spring. Next Saturday is also May
Day, so keep an eye out for a May basket at your doorstep!
Our ANIMALS 2X2 unit in
science will continue this week as we investigate oviparous animals—especially
the chicken and duck eggs in our classroom incubator. They are due to hatch in about 2 weeks—stay tuned for
updates! Please read the attached
Egg project that you can work on with your child and return next Monday. We
will also be studying redworms and nightcrawlers this week and next. Just as we did with the fish, we will
be observing body structures and behaviors. We will journal our findings and read some interesting worm
tales!
Our new MATH unit is all
about addition. This is a fun and
long awaited unit. Please check in
with your child’s progress daily.
Thanks.
Your child’s MID-TRI REPORT
will come home this Thursday.
Please go over it with your child and return the bottom portion. I’m so pleased with the progress of all
of the students. Please continue
to work on any items listed on the report or that were not checked off yet on
the last reportcard. Items for all
children to practice include reciting the Angel Prayer, printing numbers 1-31
and reading the sight words from our kindergarten list. I will keep retesting
skills weekly. Feel free to send a note or email if you have questions or
concerns.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY to Yaretzi Garza on April 26.
