Also this is the time of the year when many families are preparing to have the children around a lot more as the children begin summer vacation from school. It's just the opposite for me. I will suffer some withdrawal pangs from seeing the children less often as our school halls fall empty and quiet.
As always though the summer will pass quickly and we will be eager and ready to welcome the students back when fall comes.
It continues to be my prayer and goal here at Nativity of Mary that no family who wishes to have a Catholic school education for their child will ever be turned away. Through the generosity of many faithful donors and our wonderful parish community, significant scholarship funds are available. If you have an interest in the school and think the cost would be an obstacle, please speak to me or Mindy Reeder, our school principal. We can make it work for you.
The school, including our accredited preschool, is central to our parish mission and making it financially accessible is very important to us. With our before- and after-school programs, we can also assist families in managing their busy lives in a caring, Christian atmosphere.
Our school is vibrant, educationally excellent, financially healthy and diverse. It is grounded in Catholic, Christian values. For me it is an unfailing source of joy and a gift from God to be developed and shared freely.
Have blessed times of family faith and fun all summer long. I still will get to see the children here at Mass, Creative Clubhouse's summer program, and Vacation Bible School. Then, when fall arrives, our school will be ready and better than ever. We're consecrating all to God.
