Councils & Committees
There are a number of opportunities to volunteer for councils or committees at Nativity of Mary Catholic Church. Below is a brief description of the organizations that help guide our parish community as well as contact information to learn more about the areas that interest you.
The Parish Council advises the Pastor on all issues relating to the operation of the parish. Please see the Parish Council page for more information.
Advisory council to the Pastor, providing expertise on the overall financial operations of the Parish. Involved with other parish commissions on financial matters related to ministry programs. Contact Chad Huset.
Promotes growth in faith through worship. Help parishioners exercise liturgical ministries, implement pastoral liturgical practices and plan liturgical celebrations of the community. Contact the parish office at (952)881-8671 to learn more.
Promotes a culture of Christian stewardship by providing stewardship education, events and encouraging the use of gifts of time, talent and treasure to enhance the vitality of the Parish and the greater Bloomington community. Contact Zach Hoffman.
Respect Life Committee
The Respect Life Committee promotes, through prayer, education and service, the Church’s doctrine on the most basic human right: the protection of life from conception to natural death. The committee invites parishioners to become active in the moral, legal, and political aspects of such life issues as abortion, euthanasia and assisted suicide. Contact Liz Longo at (952)854-6722.
Legacy & Planned Giving Committee
Promotes and encourages gifting to Nativity of Mary’s Church & School Endowment trust funds. Reviews investments of the trust funds managed by the Catholic Community Foundation. Informs the Parish Pastoral council on endowment performance results and advises on the reinvestment or use of endowment distribution. Contact Joanne Rachel.
