Bloomington Heritage Days

Bloomington Heritage Days’ goal is to build a stronger community through the promotions of celebrations, educational programs, citizen volunteerism and the preservation of community. The BHD festival is now a one day event held in September with activities, contests, shows and live entertainment. 

​The parade begins at 10:30 AM and the festival begins at 11 AM!

Saturday’s Festival includes: Awesome Food Vendors, Beer Garden, Bloomington’s Got Talent, Historical exhibits, Pie eating contest, Athletic contests, games and clinics, Bingo, Raffle, Kid’s Inflatables, live music…and MUCH more!

Volunteers

We are looking for volunteers from our parish and school to help make Heritage Days at Nativity a success. Volunteers are needed for the raffle ticket booths for 2 hour shifts from 10 am - 10 pm on Saturday, September 15. Sign up as part of a pair of volunteers with a friend or family member, or just sign up on your own. To volunteer, email Joanne at jrachel@nativitybloomington.org with the times you are available on September 21. Thank you!

Nativity is proud to be the 2019 host for Bloomington's Heritage Days Festival. Look for our float in the parade on Saturday morning and be sure to stop by our tent for prizes, bingo, raffle tickets, face painting, cold treats and much more!


2019 Nativity of Mary Annual Raffle

Raffle Tickets will be available for pickup and purchase NOW! We are asking each member of the Nativity community to sell 10 raffle tickets between now and Saturday, September 16. If you are a parishioner, you can pickup or purchase your envelope of raffle tickets after Mass each weekend prior to Heritage Days, or stop by the Parish Office during the week. School Families can pickup their raffle tickets in the School Office or at Registration Day. Cash or check please, no credit cards.

When returning your raffle tickets, please remember to fill out the front of the raffle ticket envelope indicating the number of tickets sold/returned, and the dollar amount enclosed. All tickets need to be returned to Nativity whether they are sold or not. 

Prizes:

  • 1st - $2,000
  • 2nd - $1,000
  • 3rd - $500
  • 4th-10th - $100

$5 per ticket. Held rain or shine. Need not be present to win. Winner responsible for any additional fees or taxes. Must be 18 or older to purchase a ticket or win a prize. Drawing will take place at 9:30 PM on the Main Stage on Saturday, September 15, 2017.


Cost

THERE IS NO ENTRY FEE FOR THE FESTIVAL. All of the necessities and most of the professional entertainment, activities and shows are funded through sponsorships. There are a few fee-based activities and events: main act on the main stage, trampolines, animals, henna tattoos, food, etc.

Parking

Finding parking near by can be a challenge. Free Bicycle Valet service is available and free off-site Park ‘N Ride shuttle service is available starting at 9:30 AM from Normandale Community College and Kennedy High School.
