Funeral Planning

If you have experienced a death in your family and need to schedule a funeral, know of our sympathies.

Beth Gaetz, our Ministry Coordinator, coordinates funerals here at Nativity of Mary. She will guide you step-by-step through the planning process. Please contact her at bgaetz@nativitybloomington.org or 952-881-8671 extension 8070. If you need to leave a message, please give the name of the deceased, the date of death, and several dates you might wish for us to consider for the funeral. Beth will check the availability of the church and a presider and get back to you. 

Funerals are scheduled on weekdays, generally Tuesdays - Friday; unfortunately, we are not able to accommodate weekend funerals. Please continue reading for further details:

On-site funeral luncheon limitation: In accordance with guidance from the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis and in the interest of doing our utmost to ensure the safety of our students, teachers and staff, whenever children are on campus Nativity of Mary will only host on-site luncheons in the Gathering Space, which accomodates a maximum of 120 people.

Summer 2026 hours: The parish will close at 12 noon on Fridays from June 12th through September 4th, 2026. While we may be able to host a Funeral Mass on a Friday in the summer, we will not be able to host a luncheon reception to follow onsite at Nativity.
