At long last, I am THRILLED to announce that we have finally received permission from the Archdiocese to resume with choir! The singing from all of you in the congregation continues to fill me with joy, but I am particularly excited to invite the choir back for their unique ability to bring life to the musical treasures of the church and to enhance and ornament congregational singing with harmonies. What better way to celebrate their return than with our Patronal Feast Day?
The Parish Choir will resume singing at Mass at 10:30am on Sunday, September 12, as we celebrate our (transferred) Patronal Feast of the Nativity of Mary. Of course, all current choristers are warmly invited back, but I also want to extend an invitation to any and all adults from the Nativity Community! If you enjoy singing and have been wondering about choir, this is the time—consider yourself personally invited! The ability to read music is helpful, but is not required; the real magic is in regular rehearsal attendance!
The Parish Choir rehearses every Wednesday at 7:00pm in the Church and sings every weekend. Our first rehearsal back will be on Wednesday, August 25, so we have some time to get our voices and harmonies back into shape after the long hiatus.
