We often hear about Jesus’ Passion and death in the Gospels, the Rosary, the Mass, the Stations of the Cross, and many other devotions. Because we hear about Christ’s Passion so often, it’s easy for us to lose sight of its profound significance. But imagine if you had never heard these stories before. Imagine experiencing them for the very first time, and realizing that Jesus is a real person who really suffered and died for you and for me so that we can have eternal life.
Beginning on February 24th, we will be offering a program at our parish that will help you to experience Christ’s Passion and Death as you never have before. In No Greater Love: A Biblical Walk Through Christ’s Passion, we are going to walk step-by-step with Jesus on his journey from his Agony in the Garden to his Crucifixion on Calvary. Along the way, we will unpack the biblical background to these events, the prophecies, and most especially, the ways Jesus is inviting us to walk more closely with him today.
Every step of the way we will unpack Old Testament prophecies, messianic expectations, and connections to our Catholic Faith. We will see that practically every word in these Gospel accounts of Christ’s passion is charged with great significance. As we unpack these details, you will experience a deeper understanding and appreciation of God’s immeasurable and unconditional love for you—and you will grow closer to Jesus than you ever have before.
Participants of No Greater Love will receive this book and workbook. We will meet every week for prayer, fellowship, discussion, and an engaging video presentation presented by Dr. Edward Sri, which was filmed on location in the Holy Land, so we can see the actual locations where Christ’s passion occurred!

Frequently Asked Questions
Q: Is there preparation (“homework”) to do before each session?
A: Yes—after most sessions, you can expect about 90 minutes of preparation to complete throughout the week. There is no prep work before Session 1. On the first night, we’ll review the materials together and walk through the schedule so you know what to expect.
Q: Will I have access to the videos to watch or re-watch at home?
A: The videos will only be viewed during the Tuesday night sessions as a large group (this is included in the cost of the Lenten series). The good news is that the reading materials and videos cover the same content, just presented in different ways—so if you miss a video, the book will help fill in any gaps. If you’d like personal access to the videos at home, they are available for purchase through the Ascension App for $5.99. You’re welcome to purchase them on your own here.
Q: If I didn’t complete the prep work, should I still attend the session?
A: Yes! The video provides a helpful overview and enough context for you to reflect, learn, and participate in small group discussion. While the prep work is encouraged to get the most out of the program, attending the sessions is still very valuable. Because the program moves in chronological order, keeping up with the material in some way each week will help the full picture come together—but don’t let unfinished prep keep you from coming.
Q: Do I get to choose my small group?
A: The sessions will take place in the Gathering Space, and small group discussions will happen naturally at your table. Feel free to choose your table when you arrive.
Q: Why should I participate in the No Greater Love Lenten Series?
A: Whether you’re in the early stages of your faith or a lifelong Catholic, there is always more to discover about Jesus. The Bible and the timeline of Christ’s life are incredibly rich—but as Dr. Edward Sri puts it, they can sometimes feel like a “mental landmine” without the right guidance. This series helps bring clarity, depth, and meaning to Christ’s Passion, allowing you to better understand His love and how His story continues to impact our lives today.
Q: Are scholarships available?
A: Yes! Thanks to the generosity of our donors, the first 50 registrants can attend for free. If you may need financial assistance, we encourage you to register early to be included in that first group. We never want cost to be a barrier to participation. If you missed the first 50 registrants and are in need of a scholarship, please reach out to Molly Bellmont.
